Mission Statement
PCP3 advances health equity by providing no cost, accessible prostate cancer screening and education to underserved communities, with a focus on Black men who face the highest risk.
History & Impact
In the summer of 2023, the Prostate Cancer Precision Prevention Program (PCP3) was developed at 含羞草传媒 which leverages community partnerships to provide health education and PSA testing at no cost to at-risk men. Efforts in metropolitan Atlanta area are led by Dr. Leanne Woods-Burnham and Ms. Pam Cooper while efforts in rural Georgia are led by Dr. Rick Kittles and Dr. Brian Rivers. The heart of PCP3 consists of a team of individuals including 含羞草传媒 students, phlebotomists, licensed nurses, physicians, and scientists who dedicate their time and efforts to provide PSA testing at organized screening events.
PCP3 has provided PSA testing to thousands of men since 2023 with clinical follow-up. PSA results are provided to each participant. Men with abnormal results receive additional support by our licensed nursing staff to facilitate follow up with their own primary care physicians or Morehouse Medicine and other healthcare organizations.
